Restored colonial style house in Goa

This beautifully restored colonial Portuguese house on the Island of Chorao was a three year labour of love for it's owners. It had been run down and rarely used but some furniture had been left behind. For decades old Goan houses were abandoned by their owners as they moved to the cities or to Europe. Buffalo grazed in the garden and local people stored crops in the house. Now it is painted in sherbet colours and decorated with textiles that are a mix of Indian handloom cottons and old saris
